Campbell's Tribute Fund

Created by Simon 16 years ago
Welcome to the Campbell Nicol Tribute Fund page. This fund has been created to help to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of Campbell. Campbell was diagnosed with MND back in December 2003, although he did show symptoms going back into late 2002. He battled bravely against this terrible disease and slipped away peacefully at home with his family around him on 5th March 2005. I was amazed at the way Campbell dealt with his illness. He didn't ever complain about the hand that he had been dealt, he just got on with it. He would always find a smile for you, even as life got more difficult for him. Campbell was a true Scotsman. He would always give you his honest opinion, and never sugar-coated anything. He loved his red wine and whisky too. He is fondly remembered and deeply missed by friends and family. Campbell was just 64 when he died, and he celebrated his birthday the week before he passed away. His sister Ray also died from MND aged only 66. In order to further research into MND, tissue was taken from Campbell by the London Neurodegenerative Diseases Brain Bank at King's College. More must be done to combat this cruel disease. We need to raise money for the MND Association so that more research can be funded. We owe it to Campbell and thousands of other people who suffer as a result of MND. All money raised on these pages will be earmarked as being donations made via this Tribute Fund when they reach Motor Neurone Disease Association. You can also sign the guest book and tell other people about this service if you wish. Kind Regards, Simon Hancock June 2007
